Jeremy Procter wins prestigious regional EEF business award
We are thrilled to announce Jeremy Procter, the Chairman of Procter Bros, has won a prestigious regional business award at this year’s EEF Future Manufacturing Awards.
Jeremy won the Leadership Award, sponsored by Liberty House Group, which celebrates the achievements of outstanding manufacturing leaders and the significant contribution they make to their business and UK manufacturing.
Jeremy was up against stiff competition from individuals from a range of innovative businesses - small and large - from across Wales. He was selected by a panel of judges drawn from business leaders, industry experts and academics after impressing them with his experience, passion and drive, which has contributed to the continuing success of Procter’s, with over 275 years of trading.
With the regional title now secured, Jeremy will now go on to find out if he has won the national title at an awards gala dinner in London in January next year.
On top of Jeremy’s success, Rae Goman, our marketing apprentice at Procter Bros, also fought off competition from across the region to take silver in the Business Apprentice First Year Award. Judges said they were overwhelmed by the quality of apprentices nominated this year, making Rae’s achievement even more of an accolade.
Jeremy Procter said: “Manufacturers work hard to ensure the success of their business, so I am honoured to have been recognised in this way. We have been through some tough times over my 25 years at the helm, including recessions and unprecedented changes in technology, and have survived them all. This award is not about individual effort though, it is for all the hardworking and talented people that have contributed to our continued success, without whom this achievement would not have been possible.”
Rae Goman, our marketing apprentice, said: “I’m delighted to have been recognised for doing something I genuinely enjoy and that is setting me up for my future. I’m only at the very start of my career in manufacturing marketing, so to receive silver at these awards is a real boost and will motivate me even more.”
Douglas Dawson, CEO of Liberty Industries Group Says: “Strong and dynamic leadership pushes companies to take advantage of opportunities, such as those arising from the fourth industrial revolution, and towards greater efficiency and productivity for the entire business. This award is justly deserved and Jeremy should be applauded for his efforts. We wish Jeremy the best of luck for the national finals.”
